If there was only one style of music that I could listen to until I die, I think I would listen to Zombies For Money… I like categorizing tracks into respective music genres, but this one is too hard. I already spoke to you about Dj Manaia. I was digging his style very much. Well, Zombies For Money is a DJ duo formed by Dj Manaia and Klipar.

As I said earlier, I like to categorize the music I listen to. Zombies For Money is a blend of Baltimore Club, Electro, Baile Funk, Kuduro, Bhangra, Dancehall, Dubstep with a jungle flavour. I guess this is what music is all about nowadays ! New technologies have enabled art to travel from continent to continent and music has been deeply influenced by all the cultures it touched.

Hip Hop Changed – Rye Rye & Crookers

What a wonderful week we had here in Montreal. I don’t know what’s the temperature everywhere else, but here it’s been sunny and warm all week. It’s as if spring was already here. It got me in such a good mood. I’ve been searching for songs to fit this sunny week and got plenty!!

I guess some of you already heard the new Crookers’ songs by now. I’m really in love with all of them. Today, I will talk to you about this new song with Rye Rye. I guess I love it a little more than the others as I was missing her a lot. It’s always good to hear her fast rap flow on an electro/hip hop beat. The song is named Hip Hop Changed. I guess it’s true, but as Rye Rye says it herself : “it’s just another twist in the shit that we bring”. Music now gets influenced by so much styles and cultures that it definitely brings a new experience to the listener. Enjoy.

What could you ask more ? Kid Cudi and Snoop Dogg on a beat produced by Diplo. Seriously, I can’t get enough of Snoop Dogg. Even after all these years he keeps on following the trends and never gets old. Love the song. As you can see on the picture, this song is going to be featured on his next album : Malice in Wonderland !

Recently, there is no female rapper that people talk about more than Nicki Minaj. You might love her, you might hate her : she doesn’t care. I do not know now if I love her or not.. Is she trying too much to reinvent (or copy) something that other female rapper like Lil Kim (sorry for the easy comparison) already did well? I don’t know yet but I like most of the songs I hear from her…

I am not here to judge her.. Well maybe a little.. I like this song. The beat features samples from Annie Lennox’s song : No more “I Love You’s”. I’m not saying she’s original by taking this song as Jason Derulo & Auburn did it already with the song How Did We…

I’ve been a fan of Schalchthofbronx since the beginning… Seriously.. How can you not like them ? These guys know how to remix anything to make it a piece of art. This time, they remixed DJ Mujavas’s track : Sgwejegweje.. Can’t pronounce it but I simply love it.. I simply do not know how to categorize this song.. Maybe a little blend of house, baile funk, kuduro, electro.. Or simply SCHLACHTHOFBRONX… Anyway.. I’ll let you judge by yourself as I’m unable to think straight while listening to it !

I didn’t know it at the time I listened to it for the first time, but that is exactly what I was thinking about… It sounds like the old Rihanna.
